A film festival by Pasifika storytellers, for Pasifika storytellers

Māsima Film Festival is proud to be in its 6th season of showcasing and centering films made by Pacific Islanders or that focus on the Pacific Islander experience.

We are committed to a curating a program that not only represents Pasifika culture in a broad sense on the surface, but one that reflects the deeper nuances within our community, making space for artistic expression and using film as the medium for meaningful dialogue.

Salt Lake City boasts one of the highest concentration of Pacific Islander populations and Māsima was created to serve that growing population through film exhibition and providing access to titles not widely available.

The best seat for independent film

Māsima Film Festival has been privileged to call the Salt Lake Film Society’s Broadway Centre Cinemas our home since beginning in 2021.

Salt Lake Film Society has upgraded Broadway Centre Cinemas theaters with boho-luxe, environmentally sustainable, and accessibility-forward seating and auditorium improvements with accessibility as a core focus and environmental leadership that sets a new U.S. cinema standard.

We’re excited to have our Māsima audiences partake in this enhanced viewing experience!

Māsima Film Festival is co-presented by
